Here we are once again; laying beneath the stars Here we are. Can you fee my breath on your ear? Oh no, I'd like to see you go. But then I changed my mind Slow down, All the answers that I know that i won't change Be calm, Cause you know that I want you So we'll walk up the hill to say good bye And I know you don't want this And I see you don't want this Oh no, I'd like to see you go But then I change my mind Slow down All the answers that i know that won't change Be calm Cause you know that i want you. And you act so normal Cause it's been this way So you jump in the cab And just drive away drive away

4 am, walking home by myself... I did it all night long Looked in the grass, I saw eyes I saw them all night long So I get the feeling you want me right now, so then I turn to you, Can I say How? The look you gave when you glanced at me So far for sure I know The face you made when you stared at me The way she stares you gotta keep on walking I can't help but feel that she's watching me now Now I'm sure as my steps grow wide I'm talking to myself, I've gotta find a place to hide, And then she sneaks right up the hill to see Just what I've done and where I've gone, you see? Now I know that she's following me So far for sure I know Now I know what she's thinking about The way she stares you gotta keep on walking That's why you're here Lets find the way Been walking so long We'll find a way I know this But some how you made me stop and think that maybe you got something for me here you're a Grandma, Who Eats Anything But won't say anything till nightfall

Here I am at night, Sitting in the back room Once I knew I could. I would just lay here But it's not the same. All questions are answered now. When have I? You left me lonely lonely No one else to talk to Once again When have I? You left me lonely lonely I'm on the same boat as my friends. We all move this way to be lost in our minds. It doesn't mean anything It doesn't mean a thing to you. We've lost our minds today. Lets go outside and play. Leave the faith up to you I've never seen this side of you To leave the challenge up to you. It's in your hands now, man Remember what you have to say, Remember how to feel I don't care and I don't care What you've done with our time So pack your bags and walk outside Cause we don't care, we'll be just fine.

My life It's in my hollow body baby, feel it Don't you know? Blades are all the same They cut down to the bone Believe it or not. Even if you don't believe what i say, It's gonna be a long time till we get old; If it happens that we feel the need to; If I have the answers once, I will. I know Jane, She's got a medicated heart guess you could call it bad luck Don't bother reasons with me After all I've done She says she feels so fine. Do you believe that from her? No I don't. Can you even see the mess we're made of? Is it all intact. I bet its not

about

Añopechi (awn-yo-pechi)

In what is their second release to date the Gervais, Oregon
trio, Añopechi, has taken a gigantic stride towards becoming a well
recognized national act with their EP, Big Brain; the question is however,
whether or not they have truly embraced this idea for themselves.
In one of the most climatic moments of the album, vocalist Alex
Preciado delivers the indifferent statement, “I don’t care, and I don’t
care.” And, this line comes near the end of what is possibly the most
inspired and thought-provoking song of the bunch. The sheer technically
and intricacy of the song is, in itself, a testament of the effort it took to
write. But, to the thoughtful listener, this lyric may suggest questions of
motive or commitment when the music screams otherwise. Even in an
interview, the trio of Alex, Dustin, and Tammy tend to quickly underplay
the far-reaching capabilities of their current body of work and often side-
step the tough questions of substance and meaning. Eventually we find
however, that this juxtaposition of apathetic mind and passionate method
is somewhat of an unconscious ruse; one that becomes an important
thematic element that runs deep within the EP and the members in
general. As a listener, one is afforded an intriguing combination of keen
musicianship with a clever, almost deceptive ease. Big Brain is intelligent
and savvy as it is harmonious and simple; and it is brilliant in this manner.
What does this mean on a greater scale? It means Añopechi is
able to endear themselves to listeners across several genres. Versed
musicians will appreciate the dynamic rhythms and complex breaks and
stop tempos that are adeptly interspersed throughout each song. The
more casual listener will easily enjoy the catchy hooks and choruses
without having trouble with the complicated time signatures. It is in
this style and rhythmic acumen that I hear hints of Moneen’s 2003, “Are
We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now” album; Dynamic and
tricky while firmly rooted with a melodic style and nature. The addition of
Tammy to the band in early 2010 has proven to be instrumental in making
this possible. Her vocals on, “Love Doesn’t Wait, Ya Know?,” provide a
perfect complement to Preciado’s in telling the song’s fickle love story.
The story of a rollercoaster relationship seems to be a perfect
addition to the EP as a whole. It’s a song that metaphorically applies to
the entire collection of tracks on a greater level. At times this album will
make you want to get up and dance or rock out and at others you will find
comfort in the softer, jazz-inspired moments. “I Can Wait Real Good” even
incorporates the use of a cello to fade the album out in style. It’s an EP
that anyone can enjoy right from the first listen and then, subsequently, find
themselves discovering new layers and nuances over time.
The songs on Big Brain were recorded entirely by Añopechi in their
personal home studio, which displays the kind of music IQ and expertise
that the member’s possess. To those closest to the band, they can attest
that many tireless months went into the writing and recording process. This
dedication has certainly paid dividends in producing a thorough and well-
polished final product. With Big Brain’s release in addition to their excellent
live show, Añopechi leave no doubt that they are ready to take their act to
a bigger stage. And, it’s a fact that they have now truly come to terms with.
